In December 2025 the Planning and Infrastructure Act received Royal Assent and became law. The Government intends for the Act to play a key role in unlocking more housing and infrastructure across the country and supporting sustained economic growth. Throughout the legislative scrutiny of the Bill, the RTPI produced resources for parliamentarians and their offices including briefings ahead of debates and commentary through blogs and news pieces. The below resources detail our position on provisions within the Act and proposals we advocated for during its passage.
