RTPI launches new online membership application system
The Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) has launched a streamlined, more accessible way to join and progress membership.
While the requirements for the APC and other membership classes remain the same, the way candidates apply is changing – making the process simpler, more intuitive, and better suited to today’s digital world.
The Institute has streamlined the application journey so members can do more online, in their own time, and from any device – bringing everything together in one place. Applicants will be able to start, save, and return to their application at any time, with clear guidance and progress tracking along the way.
Accessibility has been built into every stage, and feedback will continue to be welcomed to make sure the system works for everyone.
The first phase of our rollout will open applications for the following membership classes:
- Student
- Licentiate
- Affiliate
- Associate
- Legal Associate
- Chartered membership via the following routes: L-APC, DA-APC, A-APC, EP-APC
The Institute will soon be rolling out online applications for fellows, retired members, retired members reverting to their previous class (Associate, Legal Associate, Chartered, Fellow), and lapsed members wishing to rejoin their previous class (Associate, Legal Associate, Chartered, Fellow), with further announcements to be made at a later date. In the meantime, applications for these classes can still be submitted via the existing application form process.
