Shaped by over 1,500 voices from across the profession, it’s more than a new look – it’s a stronger, more unified way of expressing who we are, what we stand for, and the positive impact planning makes every day. Today marks the launch of a new chapter for the Royal Town Planning Institute

We’re proud to introduce our fresh new brand – one that better reflects who we are, what we stand for, and how we support our members, volunteers, and the planning profession.

This is more than a visual update. It’s about strengthening our voice, aligning with our values, and ensuring that everything we do – from member events and public engagement to policy influence – is clear, consistent and confident.

Why we’ve evolved

The world is changing rapidly, and so is the role of planners in shaping it. We want to ensure that our identity reflects the value of planning in society – and the strength of the institute that supports it.

Our purpose remains the same: empowering planners to deliver positive impact. But we’ve listened to members, staff and stakeholders who told us we needed to communicate that purpose more clearly.

This new brand helps us do just that.

We consulted widely across our community – hearing from more than 1,500 members, staff, volunteers, and external partners. Their feedback shaped every element of the new brand.

You asked us to be more visible. More consistent. More representative of the people behind the profession.

We heard you. And we’ve built a brand that brings those goals to life.

What’s new

You’ll see a new logo, colour palette, typography and visual style across our website, communications and events.

We’ve also refreshed our tone of voice – making our language more straightforward, personable and optimistic. This means clearer messages, more inclusive communication, and a stronger connection with all our audiences.

Our four core values now sit at the heart of everything we do:
