Project update from PAE on website upgrade

Planning Aid England are currently working on a website upgrade to make improvements to the design, content, accessibility, and user experience of our planning guidance for the public, available at www.planningaid.co.uk.

New materials will include a resource to assist Gypsy and Traveller (G&T) communities engage with the planning system across England. This has been developed with Simon Ruston MRTPI, a consultant specialist in the field, in consultation with G&T community members via Friends, Families and Travellers (FFT).

G&T community representatives of FFT’s Roots Group, from across different regions of England, were involved in focus groups, firstly, to review previous PAE G&T online resources and, secondly, to review updated draft G&T resources developed by Simon Ruston in his consultancy role. These resources are being reviewed internally now and will be published on our newly upgraded website in the Autumn.

Other online content will be reviewed in due course with opportunities advertised for PAE volunteers to assist. This follows on from work earlier this year, where volunteers helped update PAE’s “jargon buster”, with each volunteer being allocated items to review in line with their specialities, and encouraged to suggest new terms and definitions to be added as jargon buster items where necessary.
