How to apply

To apply for a 2026 Welbank Bursary please:

  1. Complete the application form below and submit by midnight on Sunday 26 April 2026. 
  2. Where indicated at the end of the application form, please add your supporting statement (a maximum of 500 words).

The selection process

Application forms and supporting statements will be reviewed by RTPI Officers and Trustees of the RTPI Trust. In reviewing applications, we will consider how the applicant meets the eligibility criteria and supporting statements will be assessed on the presentation and quality of the writing.

The RTPI reserves the right to apply additional selection criteria if there is a high volume of submissions.

Successful applicants should be notified by the end of June 2026.

The information you provide in this application form and supporting statement will be held securely on the RTPI’s database and will be processed in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation and Data Protection Act 2018. The RTPI will neither disclose, nor permit members of its staff to disclose, any confidential and/or personal information you provide unless required to do so by law.

Eligibility

Equality

The Trust analyses the profile of its applicants in order to monitor the effectiveness of its policy for equality, diversity and inclusion.
