My journey in planning began in 2001 at Anglia Ruskin University, an experience that was defined by the fact that there were just two of us remaining on the course by the end!  It was during my second year that an opportunity arose: a part-time role at a small planning consultancy in Brentwood. This experience became the foundation of my career, as I remained with the firm for 13 years after graduation.

While I eventually ventured into London to work on large-scale residential projects for a major multidisciplinary practice, I ultimately found myself drawn back to the firm where it all began. The pandemic offered a new perspective, and in 2022, following a year working for a small developer as a planning manager in London, I took the leap and launched my own consultancy. The developer I had worked for became my first client, and I've since cultivated a strong network through networking and referrals.  It certainly helped that, at the time of me starting out on my own, there were no other planning consultancies in a 5-mile radius to me.

The support of the planning community has been a constant throughout my time out on my own. I've valued the knowledge and connections I've found on the ICN forum and at their conferences, which have been some of the most enjoyable events I've attended in my career.
In my personal time, I'm a proud parent of two children and trustee at a local primary academy trust.  I enjoy photography, Lego (I’m an adult kid!) and the occasional DIY project.
