Past members can re-join the RTPI at their previous membership class at any time. Retired members who are transitioning back to planning employment can also revert to their previous class of membership.

Step 2 – Know if you are eligible

You must have previously been a member of the RTPI to rejoin. If you are applying first time for AssociateLegal Associate or Chartered membership please refer to the web pages and APC guidance documents for each class of membership.

 

Step 3 – Have the relevant documentation to hand

You will need to have the relevant documentation and supporting evidence ready to upload as part of your application. You can save your application at any point and return to it. To complete your application to rejoin, you may need the following:

  • If you are upgrading your membership a copy of your qualification/s certificate or transcript to confirm you have been awarded the qualification/s.
  • If you are a student currently studying an RTPI accredited course, please ensure that your planning school has not already signed you up for membership and ensure the student declaration form is completed.
  • Please note the CPD requirements below (excluding Retired, Affiliate, Student and Licentiate rejoin applications).
  • Your employer details, if also in work.
  • credit/debit card for payment, if applicable.

You will need approximately 10 minutes to complete the application.

 

After you apply

Once you have submitted your application, you will receive email confirmation that your application has been submitted successfully. Your application will be assessed and you will receive notification of the outcome of your application by email.    

All RTPI members are bound by the RTPI’s Byelaws, Regulations, Royal Charter, Code of Professional Conduct and Membership Terms and Conditions   (add links).

Membership fees 

The administration fee (where applicable) and subscription fee (pro rata) will be payable at the time of rejoining. View further information on membership fees.
