Green Heritage Homes entered by Bath and North East Somerset Council

Green Heritage Homes is a partnership project seeking to increase the sensitive retrofit of listed buildings within Bath and North East Somerset. The project addresses the unique technical and planning challenges associated with upgrading the energy performance of listed buildings, through the delivery of innovative services including a new pre-app service, retrofit surveys, supporting advice materials and case studies, and engagement at in-person events and surgeries. The project aims to address the diverse range of households and housing types across the district, targeting audiences including private homeowners, landlords, housing associations, and heritage and retrofit professionals within the sector.

Melksham Neighbourhood Plan entered by Place Studio

The Joint Melksham Neighbourhood Plan 2 (JMNP2) establishes a robust, community-led framework for managing significant growth within Melksham and its rural parishes. Developed through a partnership between local councils and planning consultants, the plan prioritises climate resilience, the regeneration of brownfield sites and the delivery of significant housing allocations. The plan balances development with community wellbeing, designating 49 Local Green Spaces and protecting landscape gaps and community facilities. This proactive approach successfully established community trust in plan-led development, culminating in a definitive 88.8% referendum approval in 2025.

Tisbury and West Tisbury neighbourhood Plan entered by Tisbury Parish Council

The Tisbury and West Tisbury Neighbourhood Plan Review (“TisPlan2”) is an evidence‑led, community‑driven plan that tackles long‑standing local challenges. It unlocks a derelict 2.4‑hectare ex‑railway brownfield site, strengthens policies on genuinely affordable homes and supports community‑led housing. It introduces character‑based place‑shaping and windfall policies to focus growth in walkable locations, and responds to repeated River Nadder flooding with clearer flood‑risk policy. The plan addresses nutrient neutrality constraints, climate action and dark skies, and plans positively for an ageing population, resulting in a deliverable, widely supported framework that goes beyond standard practice.
