Winner - Charlotte Greenhow, South Ribble Borough Council

Charlotte has made an outstanding contribution to the South Ribble Planning Team since her appointment to Senior Planning Officer at he age of 28. She has progressed rapidly because of her professional, capable and proactive approach.

The planning team at South Ribble is relatively small, but committed to pursuing excellence, and this is achieved in no small part by the contribution Charlotte makes to the work we do. Charlotte has strong customer service skills, is well liked in the team, and often goes above and beyond to help customers with planning queries and the planning process. 

 

Commended - Sophie Stanton, P4 Planning Ltd

Sophie Stanton, Chair of the RTPI North West Young Planners, is a transformative leader dedicated to inclusive practice. Since relocating in 2023, Sophie has delivered complex North West projects, including Bolton’s Church Wharf regeneration and sensitive heritage restorations. Her work bridges technical policy and lived experience, advocating for Equality Impact Assessments and community-led initiatives like the Manchester LGBTQIA* Heritage Tour Signage. A 2025 ‘Woman of Influence’, Sophie leads with empathy, mentoring peers and collaborating across the industry to ensure planning remains a tool for democracy. She is committed to making the profession more resilient and equitable for the next generation.

Shaun exemplifies the highest standards of an outstanding Young Planner, demonstrating rapid professional progression, exceptional technical skill and leadership. His impactful work on the Local Plan, Article 4 Direction, conservation areas, environmental policy and flood risk evidence highlights significant contributions across Central Lancashire. Nationally, his volunteering, committee roles and published contributions showcases his growing influence within the profession. His innovative establishment of the Young POS North West reflects originality and a commitment to developing others. With Chartered status, an RTPI APC Commendation and unwavering dedication to planning.
