Planning for waste management is an essential but often overlooked area of planning. Indeed, waste planning has its own stand-alone national policy document – ‘National Planning Policy for Waste’ and is identified in the NPPF as strategic matter. At the same time waste planning has a role beyond planning for waste facilities. Expert speakers will consider current issues in waste planning affecting local plan-making and applications including changes to National Planning policy.
