This is an in person roundtable event, organised by the RTPI NW.

On 25th July 2023 the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities (DLUHC) announced the Levelling-up and Regeneration Bill consultation on implementation of plan-making reforms in England.

The DLUHC website outlines the scope of the consultation, along with a detailed summary of the future proposals for the changes to plan-making. The RTPI NW are seeking views from Planners in our region on the reforms proposed by DLUHC to inform the national RTPI response. The consultation, in summary, includes the following chapters:

  1. Plan content
  2. The new 30-month plan timeframe
  3. Digital plans
  4. The local plan timetable
  5. Evidence and the tests of soundness
  6. Gateway assessments during plan-making
  7. Plan examination
  8. Community engagement and consultation
  9. Requirement to assist with certain plan-making
  10. Monitoring of plans
  11. Supplementary plans
  12. Minerals and waste plans
  13. Community land auctions
  14. Approach to roll out and transition
  15. Saving existing plans and planning documents

As well as potential equalities impacts these proposals may have.
