Peter is currently Deputy Chief Executive at Hertsmere Borough Council. He is a highly experienced practitioner having worked across the public, private and voluntary sectors. He has held senior leadership roles in several local authorities including Director of Planning and Transport at Southend and Chief Planning Officer for Brentwood Borough Council. He was President of the Planning Officers’ Society (2024-25) and President of the Royal Town Planning Institute (2013-14).Peter is a chartered member of the Chartered Institute of Building, a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences, a Fellow of the Association of Building Engineers and a Fellow of the Royal Society for Arts.
