Following a 40 year career in local government and consultancy – latterly as Senior Partner of Barton Willmore (now part of Stantec) – Ian is semi-retired and remains active in planning. He is a Board Trustee of the Commonwealth Association of Planners, a Trustee of the RTPI Trust, a Partnership Board member for the University of Hertfordshire’s Planning school, and strategic adviser to Ptarmigan, a land promotion company.  Ian is a Past President of the RTPI.
