What have we achieved since 2020?

Since we launched our corporate strategy in January 2020, the RTPI has delivered a wide range of projects that have had a positive impact on our members, the planning profession more broadly and the wider world. These projects have been delivered in a complex and challenging social, economic and political context that has featured a global pandemic, a rise in extreme weather events and increased conflict. 

These are some of the achievements that we are proudest of:

·       7% growth in membership between 2020-25 (putting us ahead of our target of achieving a 10% target over 10 years)

·       2020 our new website went live

·       700 apprenticeships started

·       90% of young people said they would consider a career in planning after attending one of our work experience placements

·       38% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions for the Institute between 2019 and 2022

·       98% of our dedicated 1,000+ volunteers would recommend volunteering to others, with 66% reporting a positive impact on their personal development

·       70+ digital transformation projects delivered between 2020 and 2024
