Recent events:

Wiltshire Young Planners were delighted to welcome over 30 planners, developers, agents and consultants to their Breakfast Seminar talking all things Biodiversity Net Gain on 21st November,  kindly hosted by Thrings Solicitors. We heard from key speaker Rebecca Stanton from Thrings about the what, when and how of BNG regulations, Harvey Davies also from Thrings on how landowners can support the provision of BNG credits, Mark Campbell of DLP Consultants on the Local Authorities perspective and Aaron Smith of Master Land and Planning offering a developers perspective. There was lots of discussion over breakfast, tea and coffee following the presentations!

We look forward to working with Thrings again on more important topics in the future!

In September, Gloucestershire Young Planners together with Wiltshire Young Planners took to the waters at Cotswold water park. The event began with a walking tour and talk at Lake 16 with speakers from SF Planning who will discuss recent planning appeals on site within the Waterpark.  Afterwards they then took part in some water based activities. Not everyone managed to stay dry, but all enjoyed the opportunity.

The Swindon Heritage Action Zone was launched in June 2019 and forms an ambitious five-year plan with Historic England to revitalise the town’s unique heritage and unlock its economic potential.

The tour was hosted by Swindon Borough Council and took Young Planners around the historic railway village, designed by Isambard Brunel in the 1840s, and learnt about the key regeneration projects underway. The tour concluded at the 2018
