President's special award goes to the volunteers of the RTPI and Planning Aid

Immediate Past President Martin Willey has awarded his President’s Special Award to the active members and volunteers of the RTPI and Planning Aid, thousands of who give their time up and down the country. Martin said he hoped that this award would demonstrate the depth of appreciation and gratitude that all in the Presidential team and the staff have for their efforts. More details here

You're invited to take part in a skills survey

The skills arm of the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA), the HCA Academy, is currently running a major national study to assess the skills gaps in the place-making sector. RTPI members are invited to take part in the online survey.

New RTPI President

Ann Skippers is the new President of the RTPI. Ann, who runs a planning consultancy with her husband, lives in Chelmsford, Essex. Ann, who was the 2009 Senior Vice President, said: “I’m delighted to become RTPI President, particularly in an election year, when it will be even more crucial to champion the value of planning and planners, on behalf of the profession.” More about Ann Skippers here.

Reinstatement to membership

For a limited period, RTPI is waiving subscription arrears for lapsed members who apply for reinstatement.

The RTPI is committed to a full and wide ranging consultation with its members on the raft of National Policy Statements coming forward. Through the RTPI policy webpage, you will be able to submit your views on emerging national policy statement consultations and help shape and inform the RTPI's responses.
