Rebecca MillerRebecca Miller
Chair of Devon and Cornwall Young Planners
RTPI SW Regional Activities Committee
RTPI SW CPD Working Group

Rebecca is a Planning Officer in the Strategic Growth Team at Plymouth City Council, joining the authority in March 2016.  Having studied Geography at Plymouth University, Rebecca completed her MA in Town and Country Planning in 2011 at the University of the West of England and recently became a Chartered Member of the RTPI. Rebecca is currently working on the preparation of the Plymouth and South West Devon Joint Local Plan, with a focus on the site selection and allocation process as well as involvement in various development projects across the city.  Prior to this Rebecca spent almost 10 years working within the strategic planning teams at the rural authorities of South Hams and West Devon, where she particularly enjoyed working with local communities preparing neighbourhood plans.  Rebecca is new to the RAC after being instrumental in setting up the Devon and Cornwall Young Planners sub group, for which she is currently the chair.   She is excited about the opportunities of being on the RAC to engage with other planners from across the region and from different sectors, promoting the positive role of planning and gaining new skills and knowledge.  Outside of work, Rebecca is a keen dancer performing with local theatre companies.
