RTPI NI 2019 Executive Committee nominations

RTPI NI Executive Committee - Invitation for nominations for 2019

The following positions on the RTPI NI Executive Committee are open for nominations:

If you have new ideas that would help support RTPI members in Northern Ireland, then we want you!

Junior Vice Chair

The Junior Vice Chair is the route to Chair of RTPI NI. You will serve 1 year as Junior Vice Chair, then 1 year as Senior Vice Chair before becoming Chair for a year, followed by a year as Immediate Past Chair.  The Chair's role is to provide a figurehead for RTPI NI, Chair the Executive Committee meetings and represent local RTPI events.  You will also host the RTPI President on their visit to Northern Ireland.  The Junior, Senior and Immediate Past Chairs provide support to the Chair.  RTPI NI staff will provide support to all members of the Executive Committee.  (Corporate members may nominate for this position).

Corporate Members (3 positions)

There are 6 Corporate members on the Executive Committee, but to provide continuation, 3 positions are elected in one year and 3 the next, therefore there are 3 positions available for 2019.  (Corporate members may nominate for these positions)

Associate Member

There is one Associate member position available.  Associate members serve two years.  (Associate members may nominate for this position, however Corporate Members are also permitted to nominate, where Associate Member not available)

What is involved?

All committee members are expected to actively contribute at meetings to the various initiatives within and outside meetings.  There will be 5 executive committee meetings (including an Annual Meeting) scheduled for 2019 and committee members are expected to attend at least 4 out of the 5 meetings.

What do I need to do?

If you are interested in standing, you will need to complete the nomination form and return it to us by Friday 26th October 2018.  Nominations will NOT be accepted after this date.  The nomination needs to be supported by two RTPI NI members (the category of member needed to support a nomination is given above in brackets).

The form is available to download, or by email from northernireland@rtpi.org.uk or telephone 028 93359494 (to save on paper and resources we do not send these out to all members).

In the event of more than one nomination for any position, an election will take place, electronically and the result announced at the RTPI NI Annual Meeting on 29th November 2018.

Please do not hesitate to contact Julie Sullivan, NI Administrator if you need any further information.
