Contributing towards effective planning in Northern Ireland
How the changes made to the planning system in Northern Ireland are resulting in better planning: plan making and collaboration
The RTPI NI have produced a paper looking at whether the changes made to the planning system since April 2015 are resulting in more effective planning.
The paper reflects on the statutory link between Local Development Plans and Community Plans and the opportunities for cross-council collaboration, sharing emerging best practice to highlight the opporunties to deliver better planning.

The ECTP-CEU is the umbrella organisation for planning institutes in Europe and is striving for translation into other European languages for wider dissmentation. It is also available in Welsh and other translations can be found on the ECTP-CEU's website.
New era for Planning in Northern Ireland
RTPI NI has supported those involved in preparation of the transfer of planning functions on 1st April 2015 and we will continue to provide support. We have been working with elected members over the past few years in preparation for these changes and would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the hard work and achievements of the centralised planning authority over the past 40 years.
