London RTPI's Summit invites planners, architects and Londoners to our keynote event of the year addressing the future of London in a full day conference of talks, debates and study tours - full programme here!
Speakers in the first session entitled Planning in London 2019: a Review of the Year will address the key debates around the development of the city by reviewing the Mayor's London Plan and his most controversial planning decisions in recent years as a means to unpick the politics and challenges the city faces. The session will also review developments at the RTPI and its role in representing the profession.
The conference will look ahead at how technology can radically improve the planning system and our understanding of the city. The Digitising Planning session brings together key government and mayoral speakers in a panel with tech start-ups companies who will give short 'show and tell' presentations of their products and explain how it will improve the planning system. The session is designed to give delegates a clear understanding of the future development of the planning profession and how it can help to improve London's development.
The final debate session Delivering for London will look at how paper plans are converted into spades in the ground. Speakers will give presentations on how barriers are overcome and look ahead at what challenges there might be to future delivery.
The days will finish with tours of award winning developments in city led by the architects, planners and developers who planned and built them. Tours include Fish Island, Hackney Wick, Hear East and Chobham Manor.
Tickets are available, but selling out fast!
