"Chelmsford City Park West" entered by Bidwells LLP and Pollard Thomas Edwards
A hybrid application was approved in 2012 and comprised a mixed-use redevelopment of the former Anglia Ruskin University Central Campus including the restoration of a Grade II listed building and other historical buildings. The previously derelict site is centrally located adjacent Chelmsford's rail and bus stations and opposite County Hall and Library.
Phase 2's detailed application was approved in early 2015 and varied the original outline aspect in omitting a foodstore and increasing the number of dwellings to 386 dwellings, or 605 units across the combined phases of development, with a further 40 units approved in late 2015. 245 under croft car spaces will be provided.
Phase 2 also comprises flexible retail/business uses and provision of a public space, including a public square, to frame and complement the retained historic Law and Chancellor buildings.
