International

The RTPI promotes the worldwide value of planning and its role in shaping a sustainable future.

The challenges we are facing are global: climate change, rapid urbanisation, loss of natural habitats, humanitarian crises. UN member countries, including the UK, have signed international agreements such as the Paris Climate Change Agreement and the UN-Habitat New Urban Agenda. The RTPI International Office champions the role of planners in them.

Our briefing note Global Challenges and International Agreements on Sustainable Development provides further information.
