RTPI response to coronavirus: statement from Chief Executive Victoria Hills

Further to our statement of Wednesday 11 March on the RTPI response to the coronavirus, we are now extending the suspension of RTPI events and training to Friday 29 May. Travel on RTPI business remains suspended until further notice for volunteers.

It might be possible to continue with some events and training online, or that an event is postponed to a date later in the year. We are working hard to look at all options over the coming weeks. Our teams will be in touch with you soon if you have booked on to an event to let you know if it is cancelled, postponed or if we are aiming to hold it online.

The RTPI National Awards for Planning Excellence 2020 will now be held as a virtual online ceremony to announce the winners on 30 April further details to be announced.

This is a fast-moving situation and RTPI is committed first and foremost to the health and safety of its members, volunteers and staff. The RTPI is monitoring daily the advice of the UK government and national and international health organisations on the developing situation. We will now be issuing a weekly members update on the RTPI’s response to the outcomes of limiting the effects of the coronavirus/COVID-19. We will be doing all we can to ensure the continuity of our services for members going forwards.

My best wishes to all of you for your health and safety in the coming weeks, thank you for your continued patience.

A further update will be issued on Monday 23 March.
