Regional representatives

Each Region has a Volunteer PAE Representative who takes part in a monthly teleconference with PAE staff and chairs a regional volunteer task group.

Julian Jackson, North WestJulian Jackson

Julian has been a PAE volunteer since 2012 following over 30 years of local government planning service in the South East, Yorkshire and Lancashire. Now a freelance planner, Julian now advises mainly local planning authorities and neighbourhood plan groups on plan making. He became chair of the North West PAE Task Group in January 2016. Dr David Webb, North East

D WEBB

Dave is the current representative for the North East Region. He is a Senior Lecturer at Newcastle University and as well as co-ordinating planning aid work is keen to draw connections between advocacy, policy work and the community and voluntary sectors. Jo Widdecombe, South West Jo Widdecombe

Jo Widdecombe is the PAE representative for the South West.  Jo has over fifteen years of planning expertise, having previously worked in the public sector, she currently operates as a private consultant.  Jo has also worked for Planning Aid England as a Caseworker and latterly as a Planning Advisor where she focused on delivering planning support to community groups engaged in Neighbourhood Planning.  She has a keen commitment to Planning Aid England and a real enthusiasm for working with volunteers. Neville Ball, West Midlands

Neville BallNeville Ball is the representative for the West Midlands and is also a member of the Regional Activities Committee. Neville has been a PAE volunteer for over 20 years and in his day job works in local government as a planning policy officer. Before that he was a development control team leader. Tony Ray, Yorkshire

Tony RayTony is a retired Chartered Town Planner but still active in community planning. He has been a volunteer for Planning Aid in Yorkshire for many years and a member of the Regional Activities Committee. He is currently Chair of the Yorkshire PAE Task Group. He has been particularly involved in the inner city Holbeck Neighbourhood Plan and Forum from its inception, through to its adoption, and will continue to be involved in overseeing the plan's implementation.
