Entries are now open for this year’s RTPI Regional Awards for Planning Excellence, championing the very best examples of planning and planners from around the UK.
For the first time this year, all nine of the RTPI’s English regions will be getting involved - East Midlands, East of England, North East, North West, South East, South West, West Midlands, London and Yorkshire.
Submissions are also now open for the Awards schemes organised by RTPI Cymru and RTPI Northern Ireland.

Award categories vary across the regions and nations, but all shine a well-deserved spotlight on notable projects and planners, including those with fewer than 10 years of professional experience.
RTPI’s Head of English Regions, Sarah Woodford, said: “The regional awards ceremonies are always a highlight of the year, as we recognise and reward the teams, projects and individuals that have transformed our local economies, environment and communities.
“And, as an added bonus, all regional winners are automatically entered into the RTPI’s national Awards for Planning Excellence, the longest running and most coveted awards in the UK planning sector.”
Entries to the RTPI Regional Awards for Planning Excellence are open via the RTPI website until 2 July. Finalists will be announced in September 2021 and the awards ceremonies will be held before the end of the year.
The RTPI would like to thank this year’s Regional Awards sponsors: Iceni, No 5 Barristers’ Chambers, Savills, Stride Treglown, Tetra Tech, Town Legal and WSP. Contact Sarah Woodford to discuss additional sponsor opportunities.
