Conduct and Discipline Appeal Committee Pool

An integral part of the work and responsibility of the RTPI involves ensuring that professional ethics are upheld.
Arrow

A key role for the Conduct and Discipline Panel lies in deliberating over complaints brought against planners concerning alleged breaches of the Code.

Are you committed to the maintenance of high standards of professional conduct? Do you have an appropriate depth of experience to be able to contribute to the Institute’s conduct and discipline activities on a voluntary basis?

Each Appeal Committee consists of three members drawn from the pool of Appeal Committee members and is constituted to hear an individual appeal.  Members might expect to hear one or two appeals each year although this does depend upon the volume of cases. Most appeals are heard through the written procedure although both virtual and in-person hearings are possible. All necessary expenses are reimbursed.
