Where did your career start?
I started my career as a Planning Trainee at Daventry District Council, I chose a rural location so I could bring my horse with me!
What is your biggest career highlight?
I have had so many highlights it is hard to choose, most centre on the fantastic people I have had the pleasure to work with. Working at Milton Keynes Partnership has to be close to the top, having a shared vision really helps to create a strong team and work ethic.
Why did you become a Fellow?
I am proud to be a Planner, and having been elected to the RTPI General Assembly I realise it is now time to start giving something back. There is a passion in planning and it is good to be part of that.
What advice would you give to Chartered Members applying for Fellowship?
Supporting and promoting the profession, together with leadership, comes in many different guises, we all have different skill sets so it's not just about the big statements and large actions, it's the small contributions that can really matter and which can have big impact.
