Recent changes to PPG have placed greater emphasis on the role of viability assessments in the plan-making process, increasing the need for planners to understand and engage with viability-related issues. The seminar will seek to clarify what national policy says about viability and the implications for planning professionals of recent changes. Within the context of the current policy environment, the seminar will also provide a summary of Lichfields’ research looking at the approach to viability assessments adopted by English local authorities either through Local Plan or CIL adoption processes.
