The Office of the Planning Regulator

A Member Open Forum event

Tuesday, 10 September 2019 at 4:00PM - 5:45PM
The Alexander Hotel, 16-20 South Cumberland Street, Dublin

The Office of the Planning Regulator (OPR) is an independent public body established by Government to oversee the effective delivery of planning services to the public by local authorities and An Bord Pleanála ensuring quality outcomes in relation to proper planning and sustainable development. They have published a draft strategic plan for consultation. This sets out the Office’s high level goals incorporating the actions necessary to achieve them and the milestones to demonstrate progress.

We are delighted that the new Planning Regulator, Niall Cussen, has agreed to meet with RTPI Ireland members to outline the OPR’s remit and plans for the future covering its work on assessment development plans; reviewing the performance by planning authorities and An Bord Pleanála; and developing research and education, training and public awareness programmes.

The event will begin at 4pm with an introduction by Aidan Culhane, Chair of RTPI Ireland.  Niall will then provide a presentation on the OPR which will be followed by discussion. The event will finish by 5.45pm.

Places are free for RTPI Members but must be pre-booked.

Book your place by contacting Catherine Bolster on or by calling 08925 15649
