Course Aim

This masterclass will provide you with a thorough and thought provoking introduction to the UK planning system from a legal perspective. This will be placed in the context of sustainable development and spatial planning. This masterclass is essential for anyone starting off in their career or wanting to expand their knowledge of planning law in a variety of contexts.

Through a combination of expert trainer input, discussion and group work, you will:

  • Understand the terminology of case law and key planning legislation and regulations
  • Know the implications for development plans and environmental assessments
  • Gain a better understanding of the key processes including planning applications and planning enforcements
  • Have relevant case studies that exemplify how planning law could affect your work
