TVYPN - Balancing the natural and built environment – Campbell Wharf Marina Tour, Milton Keynes

Monday, 24 June 2019 at 5:30PM - 8:30PM
Campbell Wharf Sales and Marketing Suite, Milton Keynes, MK9 4AD
RTPI South East

Just minutes from bustling Central Milton Keynes and next to the tranquil surrounds of Campbell Park, Campbell Wharf is an exciting new development which will sit alongside the Grand Union Canal. The site will bring 8.5 hectares of allocated land into an innovative use as a new canalside quarter.

The development will utilise the Grand Union Canal which runs through the site, giving it both character and charm and incorporating leisure and retail facilities amongst beautifully designed homes. Once complete, the development will deliver 383 dwellings comprising a mixture of both apartments and houses as well as a new 111 berth marina, a canal-side pub, café, restaurant and a new footbridge linked the two sides of the canal.

This is the first RTPI TVPYN event in Milton Keynes, discussing how developers can effectively work alongside charities such as The Parks Trust to maintain and enhance natural environments. Campbell Wharf provides an excellent case study of a development which has had to consider its impact on the environment to such a significant extent whilst balancing both sustainability and viability.
