Temple Quay, Bristol, BS1 6EA
The West of England Young Planners are excited to bring you their latest event – the summer boat social. This year we are celebrating 5 years of running this event. The event provides an opportunity to network with other young planners while enjoying a tour of Bristol Harbourside.
Meet other planners within the region and share your experiences within an informal, social setting. This will be a great opportunity to meet people associated with all aspects of planning, including local authority, consultancy, academia and developers. You will have the opportunity to discuss the work you are involved in, meet new contacts, and share your experiences.
The 3 hour trip will consist of a tour around Bristol’s historic floating harbourside, starting at Temple Quay and ending at the famous cider boat, ‘The Apple’. We will collect fish and chips (vegetarian option available) to eat on-board while we sail up to Hotwells for our first pub stop. There will be a further bar stop along the waterfront, before our final destination and drop-off point at The Apple.
The boat leaves Temple Quay at 7.00pm prompt. Please arrive by 6.45pm to allow enough time to register. For safety reasons you will be required for the duration of the boat trip, which is 3 hours. The meeting point is the ferry point at the bottom of the steps near the bridge at Temple Meads, opposite the Burges Salmon offices.
Meeting Point: Temple Quay ferry stop (steps opposite the Planning Inspectorate).
Times: 7:00pm – 10pm. Please arrive at the meeting point by 6.45pm for prompt sail at 7pm. The final drop-off point will be The Apple, Welsh Back (10-minute walk back to Temple Meads)
Cost: £10 Inc. VAT. The trip will include the meal on-board. Drinks can be purchased on the boat.
Booking: Places are limited for 40 people on a first-come, first-served basis.
