Neighbourhood Planning has been with us now since the Localism Act 2011. This seminar will examine what the impact of neighbourhood planning is and explore the uneven take-up of the policy agenda. It will reflect on the impact of this on practice and the future opportunities and challenges for the policy agenda.

After attending you will be able to:

  • Understand the current statutory process on neighbourhood planning and be aware of recent legislative developments
  • Understand the current debates, challenges and opportunities surrounding Neighbourhood Planning and the reasons for variations in take-up
  • Identify some of the lessons we can draw from current neighbourhood planning practice – both positive and negative
