Collaborative working and partnerships are central to successfully planning and delivering great places. In this time of continuing constraint on public sector budgets and in light of changing local governance arrangements stemming from the Christie Commission, planning in Scotland has been leading the way. By working collaboratively to make the most of the resources we have, planners have been delivering positive outcomes for our communities. Whether working across disciplines or with the communities themselves, planners are increasingly drawing on the skills, knowledge and resources of these partners to help shape the places around us by working together. This event will explore some examples of good collaborative practice from within the West of Scotland chapter area, to show how we can achieve better plans, outcomes and ultimately places, with speakers from Glasgow City and West Dunbartonshire Councils, KMA and Scottish Canals.
The West of Scotland chapter AGM will follow this. It's a great opportunity to network and to support your local chapter. West of Scotland chapter is keen to receive nominations for positions on the chapter committee. We are especially interested in filling the office bearing position of Communications Convenor which is currently vacant. We can take elections to non-office bearing positions on the night.
