Sirius’s deep Woodsmith Mine near Whitby for polyhalite will create thousands of jobs. But should it be in a National Park? Permission has been given for fracking at Kirby Misperton, but it is highly controversial and has not started yet. For each activity the developer’s case will be examined against emerging planning policies.
