RTPI London now invites nominationsfor principal officers, corporate members, student/licentiate members and associate members to serve on the 2020 Regional Management Board (RMB) and Regional Activities Committee (RAC).
We have a number of spaces open on the RMB and the RAC. Read the following and if you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to email Lucy Barton.
What does the RMB and RAC do for you?
The joint committee of the RMB and the RAC represents the regional membership and delivers a range of services. The RMB and Regional Coordinator sets the business plan for the region whilst together with the RAC they deliver a range of activities to benefit members.
Why should you get involved?
Being on the committee is your chance to make a difference and influence not only the local member activities within the region, but also to help raise the profile of planning amongst the wider built environment sector and the key movers and shakers within the region. It will support your career development and give you the chance to work with a wide range of new colleagues.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for people who can demonstrate a variety of different life and work experiences, a zest for new ideas, a willingness to speak their mind, strategic vision and a desire to make a difference – most importantly we are looking for people with a real commitment to the RTPI and its objectives.
What is the commitment?
The RMB committee meets five times a year in central London plus attendance at the AGM. The RAC committee, which includes RMB members, meets 5 times a year plus the AGM. A WhatsApp group has been set up for both groups should a decision need to be reached before the next committee meeting.
What are the opportunities?
We have a number of spaces on the RMB, including Senior Vice Chair, Junior Vice Chair, Honorary Sectretary and Honorary Treasurer. Additionally, there are opportunities to join our RAC where we currently have eight groups who work with the Regional Coordinator to help shape and deliver activities. A discription of the groups can be found here and include.

The Nomination Form must be signed by a proposer and seconder, both of whom must be RTPI London members of any class (Corporate, Associate, Licentiate or Student). Should there be more nominations than available places on the board or committee a ballot will then be initiated and each nominee will need to submit a 200 word statement.
