This masterclass focuses on the business skills planners need to succeed in both the private and public sectors.

Through a combination of expert trainer input, discussion and group work, you will:

  • Use a range of tools and techniques for customer/client liaison
  • Learn how to demonstrate the value of planning to clients, elected members and the community
  • Gain insight into service planning and the management of planning teams

Our Trainer - Victoria Hughes

Vicky Hughes designs and delivers soft skills training programmes across Town Planning as well as various other sectors. Vicky has previously had a long standing career operating as a Recruitment Partner within the Planning Industry. She has worked with many organisations to attract and make new hires, increase staff engagement, improve staff retention and more recently on developing their soft skills training. This includes areas such as communication styles, client development, and general business skills. Vicky is also an affiliate member of the RTPI.


Please note there is limited availability for Licentiate, Independent Consultants and concessions. To be eligible for the Independent Consultant rate, you need to be member of the Independent Consultants Network (ICN). For the RTPI concessions rate, you need to be a RTPI student, unemployed or retired member. You will need your membership number and password to book.
