Dorset Young Planners are excited to welcome you to join in a CPD and Networking Event to discuss how Housing an increasingly Ageing Population in the UK is becoming one of Planning’s new challenges.

There will be talks from Alex Child, a Planning Director who has represented McCarthy & Stone, the UK’s Largest Retirement House Builder, for the past 20 Years, and Planning Policy Manager Nick Perrins and Phil Hornsby (Head of Housing & Community Services) will explain how Poole Borough Council is tackling this growing challenge.

The CPD event will involve a tour of “Horizons” (pictured) an Extra Care Development which won Best Retirement Scheme at the Housebuilder Awards. Horizons was developed by McCarthy & Stone and it embraces the recommendations of the “HAPPI” report. Located on a gateway site into the centre of Poole it acts as the main entrance to the historic Poole Park Conservation Area.

Pizza and refreshments will be provided following the event with a chance to network.
