Effective community engagement is an essential part of successful plan making. It is particularly relevant to Neighbourhood Plan preparation where achieving widespread community support is a key requirement. Reaching right across a local community can mean using a range of different engagement methods to suit varying circumstances. The aim of this workshop for Planning Aid volunteers is to enable a full discussion of the various engagement methods and establish an understanding of how they can be best delivered. This represents more advanced training than has previously been provided for volunteers in the Region with the intention that a more bespoke service can be offered to Neighbourhood Plan groups and indeed local planning authorities for Local Plan engagement assistance.
Buffet tea available from 5.00 pm. The workshop will start at 6.00 pm. Planning Aid Volunteers may claim travel expenses for attendance.
Free to Planning Aid Volunteers only.
