Lighting is an integral, but often overlooked part of design of the urban environment. Lighting of buildings, streets and spaces increases interest and vitality at night, improves ambience and safety and reinforces a sense of place.

This event will provide a great opportunity to learn about the impact of urban lighting schemes across Glasgow. We will discuss the impact of lighting on the urban environment and how lighting schemes can reinforce a sense of place.

Speakers from Collective Architecture, Glasgow City Council and Strathclyde University will explore the impact of innovative lighting solutions and highlight examples of best practice, which will be followed by a walking tour around the City.
