Brought to you by Lichfields, this event will explore the latest procedures and processes in securing major infrastructure investment and its delivery through the planning system. It will draw upon current best practice, and the benefits and challenges of the consenting processes in operation in England, drawing upon practical, project examples. We will look at how the region is fairing in the delivery of much needed infrastructure and whether the planning system really is fully playing its part. A diverse range of speakers from across a variety of infrastructure sectors and projects will give you their own perspectives throughout the day.

John McNicholas: Engineering and Programme Director, South Tees Development Corporation - Will share the Corporation’s objectives of regenerating almost 4,500acres of industrial land including the former SSI steelworks at Redcar and explain the Masterplan
Nicki Mabelson: Planning and EIA Director at Lichfields - Nicki will discuss the role of Environmental Impact Assessment in the delivery of major developments, including those brought through the DCO consenting process. Also covering best practice and the latest changes to EIA legislation
Les Hall: Development Manager, Northumbrian Water Ltd; Les will present NWL’s PR19 Business Plan and its plan for growth of its critical infrastructure.
Mark Jackson, Head of Infrastructure and Transport, Sunderland City Council. Mark will talk about the process involved in delivering the Northern Spire road bridge over the River Wear
Andrew Dorrian, Specialist Transport Planner, North East Combined Authority. Andrew will explain their strategic transport plan and how NECA engage with other associations
Linda Edworthy, Strategy Director, Tees Valley Combined Authority: Linda will set out the combined authority's priorities for infrastructure development in the Tees Valley
