PQT’18: Viable development, sustainable planning?

The issue of viability in planning has been a high profile issue which has garnered widespread attention in the press. This has been particularly so since the introduction of the  National Planning Policy Framework in 2012. With the revised NPPF due to be published soon the  panel discussion will respond to questions about how viability has been used, and what basis and role should viability now play in the English Planning System.

The panel will comprise of:

  • Gareth Giles, Principal Planner, Brighton & Hove City Council, and Co-founder of Whaleback Planning & Design
  • Tom Kenny, Policy Officer RTPI
  • Prof Pat McAllister, University of Reading
  • Chaired by Prof Gavin Parker, University of Reading

Following the event, pizza and drinks will kindly be provided by Reading Real Estate Foundation.

View directions to the venue please and a map of the campus. Henley Business school is building 138 on the map.  For those driving, car park 2 should have ample spaces to park on a Tuesday evening.
