MHCLG        Design Quality

Following the Design Quality Conference in London earlier this year, MHCLG are hosting three regional Design Quality Seminars. We would like to invite you to the MHCLG Design Quality session in Newcastle, which is supported by the RTPI.

Over 380 people attended the Design Quality Conference in London earlier this year to discuss the importance of design quality and how it can be achieved.

In Newcastle MHCLG will be presenting some of the key themes from that event for discussion. There will be chairing a panel of experts, including;

·  Colin Haylock, Previous President of RTPI and Spencer and Dower

·  Liz Gibney, Home Group

·  Nigel Longstaff, Barratt Homes
·  Cany Ash, Ash Sakula

Two case studies of North East projects will be presented.

We will also be updating you on the design quality work being undertaken by MHCLG, including the recently announced Building Better, Building Beautiful Commission.

Lunch will be available from 12.30pm and the seminar will start at 1pm.

The key learning objectives are:

- To understand the Government’s design quality objectives and how these can be applied locally.

- To understand effective ways of delivering design quality from a range of perspectives in the sector.
