There have been many recent changes in the planning system which impact on the rural environment and rural issues and this event will provide an opportunity to hear from DCLG, NFU and local planning authorities on what is happening in policy terms and on the ground, with advice and examples of good practice and how to deal with particular barriers. In addition we will look at the viability of rural and farming businesses and the need to diversify with associated development.

We will have a open discussion where you will be able to raise own particular queries.

Speakers to include:

Simon Llewellyn, Planning Development Manager, DCLG

Suzanne Clear, Senior Adviser, Planning and Rural Affairs, NFU

David Goodson and Lynette Swinburne, Savills.
