Hutting in Scotland

RTPI Scotland Young Planners Network Event

Thursday, 11 May 2017 at 6:15PM - 7:45PM
Savills, Wemyss House, 8 Wemyss Place, Edinburgh EH3 6DH, UK
RTPI Scotland

Since 2014 Scottish Planning Policy encourages local authorities to consider the construction of huts in rural settings for recreational accommodation. Reforesting Scotland’s Thousand Huts campaign was instrumental in achieving this change in policy. Planning guidance on new hutting developments was published in February 2016 to help support the sustainable development of new huts in Scotland.

This event will give you the opportunity to develop your knowledge of hutting in Scotland by hearing the perspectives of experienced practitioners:

- Richard Heggie - Director, Urban Animation
- Angus Dodds – Associate, Savills
- Catherine Malley - Conservation Officer, Stirling Council

Places are free, but limited. To book a place, please email –
