Planning in the USA

Thursday, 22 June 2017 at 5:00PM - 7:00PM
Eversheds Sutherland, Bridgewater Place, Water Lane, Leeds LS11 5DR
RTPI Yorkshire

Please note change of venue due to high demand.

This is an RTPI Yorkshire International Network event open to all.

Housing and transport are fundamental to the USA economy and the quality of life of its citizens. In the US the goal of land-use planning is to further the welfare of people and their communities by creating convenient, equitable, healthful, efficient, and attractive environments for present and future generations. Find out some of the similarities and differences between planning in the United Kingdom and the United States of America.

We are absolutely delighted to welcome to Leeds the following speakers from the American Planning Association who are visiting the UK in June to speak at the RTPI’s Planning Convention:

  • Cynthia Bowen, President APA
  • James Drinan, Chief Executive Officer, APA and AICP
  • Jason Jordan, Director of Policy, APA

Don't miss this exciting opportunity to learn about the policies, theory and practice of planning in the USA - and the potential changes likely to happen under President Trump. There will be plenty of opportunity for questions and discussion.

This is a FREE event. Places still available.
