Careers presentation

In partnership with GoConstruct, we have created a careers presentation with secondary schools in mind, that you can use or adapt. Please also read our guide to delivering the presentation.

The RTPI video "How do we plan our world" is available via the RTPI YouTube Channel.

Lesson activities

Aged 5 -11

We have developed several lesson plans to introduce primary aged children to the world of town planning that you can use or adapt alongside the class teacher.

Prior to the session, talk to the teacher about:

  • which activity/activities you would like to run
  • how many pupils there will be
  • timing of the session
  • how the teacher can best support you and the pupils in the session
  • whether you or the school need to provide any resources

Aged 11 -18

The "Planning the Future" activity pack has been designed by planning students at Newcastle University to encourage young people to voice their opinion about their local environment and was short-listed for the North East Awards for Planning Excellence 2015.

The pack includes lots of activities that can be delivered to pupils aged 11 -18 along with a guide for RTPI Ambassadors.

Brochures and leaflets

Paper copies of the following can also be sent to you by emailing
