Last night, Royal Town Planning Institute Chief Executive Victoria Hills gave the keynote address to the Worshipful Company of Paviors and an audience of 400 of the most senior figures in the construction and development industry.
In the address, Victoria (pictured at the event, third from left) reflected on her experience of two decades of strategic planning in London, as well as the 'devolution revolution' which has given City Regions across the country the ability to direct their own growth.
She said: “Strategic planning powers have enabled a directly elected Mayor to set the framework for housing, transport, investment and economic development, construction and infrastructure. With that framework comes certainty and a plan that has enabled London to retain is place as the leading global city on so many fronts.”
