Booking is now open for the RTPI’s programme of national training masterclasses for 2020. The 60-plus courses, which include a range of new topics, will run from February to December and will be delivered at 11 locations across the UK.
The five new topics are
- Planning for Health and Inclusivity
- PlanTech for Planners
- Personal Wellbeing and Resilience for Planners
- Implementing the 2019 Planning Act in Scotland
- Planning and Community Engagement
There’ll also be a return of our most sought after courses from 2019, including Environmental Impact Assessments and Understanding Development Finance, as well as Introduction to Planning days for non-planning professionals/councillors. The themes of carbon neutrality, mental health and good design underpin all the courses.
RTPI Head of Education Andrew Close said: “The RTPI’s one-day masterclasses for 2020 will offer a mixture of skills and knowledge, theory and practice delivered by industry experts to ensure you have an in-depth, up-to-date and practical understanding to take back to your workplace at the end of the course.
“They’ll also help you to meet the Institute’s Core CPD Framework for members and support your Code of Conduct obligations as well as gain inspiration, learn about key developments and reflect on the impact you can make in your practice – in fact, everything you need to grow as a planning professional.”
Course levels range from introductory to intermediate and are intended for anyone in planning or related professions, members and non-members alike. All courses are aligned to the RTPI Core CPD Framework and support the UN Sustainable Development Goals where possible.
The national training programme is part of a wider CPD programme and complements RTPI conferences, regional training events and RTPI Learn online modules.
