Help build a stronger planning profession – complete the RTPI membership survey

05 June 2017

RTPI members are being encouraged to take part in the Institute's all member survey which opened today.

Martine Koch, Head of Membership said:

"By improving what we do, we can serve our members better and build a stronger planning profession. Our all member survey is our members’ opportunity to share their opinions and ideas about how we can continue to strengthen the Institute and improve the value of RTPI membership."

As a result of the last full membership survey in 2013, the Institute has:

  • influenced policy – for example with the Value of Planning research and our #RTPI16Ways to tackle the housing crisis campaign
  • increased media coverage – including on social media
  • provided new services and benefits – for example relaunched the RTPI’s magazine, and expanded our events
  • made it easier to join – for example streamlined our routes to Chartered membership, and introduced free student membership

A full list of changes since the last full membership survey are here.

The Institute wants to hear what more it can do to increase the value of membership and strengthen the voice of professional planning.

The survey takes around 10 minutes to complete and answers are anonymous.

For every completed survey response, the RTPI will make a donation to the International Committee of the Red Cross, which supports families and communities affected by armed conflict or natural disasters in conflict regions around the world.

The survey will be open from 6 June until 5 July 2017. The findings from the survey will be published later this year.
